Money matters

When you join the University as an apprentice, you will earn a salary that will normally increase every year of the apprenticeship. And because the University is a 'Living Wage Employer', your salary is likely to be very competitive compared to that of many other employers. In addition, the cost of the skills training and college fee will be covered by the government so your apprenticeship should not come at a cost to you unless you have had access to government funding training in the past and you are more than 24 years old.

The current salary scales for apprentices at the University are shown below:

On appointment you will be paid

Grade 1.3 (£14,959)

On completion of your first year and milestone qualification you will be paid:

Grade 2.3 (£16,577)

On completion of your second year and milestone qualification you will be paid:

Grade 2.5 (£17,528)

On completion of your third year and milestone qualification you will be paid:

Grade 3.1 (£18,031)
